“ I’ve lived downtown in the ballpark district for 4 years and tried too many mediocre coffee shops until I came to this place.. great service, and even better coffee/food! I get the half sweet, iced honey cinnamon latte with oat milk and it hits harder than Mike Tyson! Can’t go wrong with any item here! ”
“ Why is it always the case you find that awesome cafe or pub or lunch bar on your last day in a city. For me, I have been searching for a coffee shop that: a) knows what a flat white is b) can make a decent coffee c) can get a bite to eat that is not overpriced and under done. Achillies is such a place. The coffee was fresh and made well. I watched the barista refill the bean hopper then actually change the grind settings to what was needed, both time and grind size. The breakfast toastie was also very good. Not a heap of seating (seats for approximately 20) but it worked. ”
“ I came in on a Sunday morning and got the mocha with the French toast. My two favorite things and they didn’t disappoint. Staff is friendly and fast. ”
“ Great little find right by the waterfront. We wanted something besides Starbucks and walked a quarter of mile across the pedestrian bridge to this great find. Friendly staff and great environment. The coffee and food didn’t disappoint either. Will be back next time in the area. ”
“ Everything bagel with butter, eggs and tomatoes was fantastic. Cappuccino was also very good. Service is fast. There was a bit of a line up in the morning but it moved fast. ”
“ I visited Achilles two days this week while traveling for work. The coffee and food are fantastic, and the staff were all so wonderful! The employees provided great menu recommendations as well as things to do in the area. I had a cappuccino, Ethiopia blend pour over, lavender latte (so good!), the warrior, and the oats bowl. All items were 5 stars, and Achilles will most definitely be on my list of places to visit next time I'm in San Diego! ”
“ Really good coffee and great bagels, I chose the build your own and went for cream cheese and bacon, super tasty. Staff were also extremely friendly and engaging with all customers ”
“ I’m a big cold brew fan, and this is hands-down my favorite spot in San Diego. The flavor is bold and smooth—exactly what I need to power through an afternoon slump. Roger was super friendly and recommended the breakfast burrito, and wow, he did not steer me wrong. It was hearty, flavorful, and seriously satisfying. I’ll definitely be coming back! ”
